What is SkimIt.ai?
SkimIt.ai introduces an AI-powered platform that generates summaries of articles and delivers them directly to your inbox. By simply emailing the article link to [email protected], users receive an AI-generated summary within minutes.
How to use SkimIt.ai?
Using SkimIt.ai is effortless. To get started, share an article you find interesting by clicking on the share icon in your browser and emailing the link to [email protected]. The subject line of the email is not important, but the article link should be the first URL link in the body. In approximately 10 minutes, you will receive an email containing an AI-generated summary of the article. You can also cc your friends in the email to share articles and summaries with them.
This tool isn't working: Help!
If you encounter any issues with the tool, please reach out to [email protected] for assistance. Occasionally, there may be delays due to server load, and it may take up to 15 minutes to receive the summary email. Additionally, remember to check your spam folder for the email.
What is the correct format of the email?
The subject line, other contents, and signature of the email are not crucial. SkimIt.ai identifies the first URL link in the email body to generate the summary.
How (and why) would I cc my friends?
If you wish to share an article with a friend, simply send the article to [email protected] and cc your friends. This way, your friends will receive the original article from you along with the helpful summary from SkimIt.ai.
What's powering the AI wizardry behind the scenes?
SkimIt.ai's AI processing is powered by OpenAI's GPT technology, enabling it to deliver accurate and concise summaries.
Is the AI-generated content accurate? Can I rely on it?
While SkimIt.ai's AI-generated content provides key takeaways, it should not be solely relied upon for accuracy. The summaries are designed to provide a quick overview and should be used for entertainment purposes. Please use responsibly.
How do you store my data?
SkimIt.ai retains the email address that sends the request, any CC'd email addresses, and the first URL sent within the email. The [email protected] processor does not retain any other content from the emails.
Why did you build this?
SkimIt.ai was developed by Karthik Sridharan and Alex Furmansky as a fun hackathon project. Their goal was to explore AI text processing, email handling, and web scraping. With their combined experience in building startups and advising founders, they created SkimIt.ai to provide a convenient and time-saving solution for summarizing articles.
